Dick Hurrelbrink
President

Dick joined Compass Point in 1993, and has helped lead the practice for the past 16 years. Prior to Compass Point, he was the Director of Media Planning and Strategy at General Mills. Dick started his career as a media planner at Campbell Mithun.

He understands the importance of outstanding media planning and execution in building successful brands having been Director of Media for dozens of leading brands on the client side at General Mills.

Jim Romlin

 Jim leads the strategy development and account service efforts for many of our major client partners.  Jim has been part of Campbell Mithun and Compass Point’s media teams for almost 30 years.

Carol Grothem

Carol heads up all of our radio buying efforts is all forms... national, local, satellite, and syndicated.  Carol is one of the true innovators in this medium, and pushes both our clients and station partners to squeeze maximum value from every buy.  Carol has been with Compass Point and Campbell Mithun for 17 years, and was just named to the national board of the Alliance for Women in Media (formerly American Women in Radio and Television).

 Lee leads our Connections Planning practice. Connections Planning means taking a deeper dive into connecting the story of a brand with how consumers really behave, and applying this knowledge to media plans. Lee has been with Compass Point and Campbell Mithun for over 20 years.

 A big part of the success of Compass Point is the sustained leadership CP has enjoyed. Put Earl Herzog’s name on the top of that list. 

Earl has been part of the leadership of Campbell Mithun and Compass Point for over 30 years. His extensive experience includes retail, packaged goods, financial services, technology, consumer durables, agribusiness, entertainment, and business-to-business strategies.

One of the most respected individuals in the media business, Earl’s over 30 years of pioneering media strategies have earned him the Minnesota Advertising Federation Silver Medal award for outstanding achievement, among other honors.

Deborah McPartland
Director of Local Television

Deborah leads all of our local television negotiation teams, including broadcast, cable and all of the associated emerging technologies in television today. Deborah also leads the programming acquisition efforts for our unique Program Tool methodology, which allows us to deliver superior spot TV efficiencies for clients by supplying station partners with quality programming in exchange for time. Deborah has been with Compass Point for 26 years.
